Enter the healthcare sector when you study T Level Health

Thinking about studying a T Level? Our former student, Tazmin, shares her experience of studying the Health T Level course, which included an industry placement with Calderdale Royal Infirmary that made up 20% of her qualification.

Tazmin’s experience working on the frontline at Calderdale Royal Infirmary in the Accident and Emergency department has shaped her ability to adapt to reactive and high-pressure environments whilst showing care and compassion to patients.

She said: “During my time at the Calderdale Royal Infirmary I worked in A&E, where I was able to use the skills I learned in the classroom around person-centered care, to ensure I treated each individual according to their needs. I was able to be hands-on, learning how to use ECG equipment, process blood samples and take patient observations. I now know how to record blood pressure and I’m trusted with entry-level responsibilities on the ward. Completing this placement has shown me a different view on life and has brought to home how much we need the NHS.”

Thanks to the placement, Tazmin already has the advantage of experience working within the NHS, which will help her stand out in interviews and when applying for industry roles.

“Being able to complete my placement as part of the Health T Level at Calderdale College has given me the confidence to pursue a career in healthcare.

“I would have never imagined this course would open so many doors for me. I have gained lots of insider knowledge in what the NHS look for in their workforce and how I can progress within the sector,” Tazmin added.

If you are a school leaver wanting to go into healthcare, a T Level in Health will open doors for you to work in health and science industries.
