Course Overview

The Calderdale College Netball Academy in partnership with Calderdale Cubs is a unique training scheme for young talented netball players aged 16-19. The academy provides the perfect environment for young athletes to develop in their chosen sport whilst studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.

The Programme

The Academy allows student athletes studying at Calderdale College to begin their basketball career with Calderdale Cubs, whilst gaining a nationally-recognised BTEC qualification.

The College is working in collaboration with Calderdale Cubs to give 16-19 year old netball players the opportunity to join a full-time dual netball and education programme.

The netball element of the programme will be delivered by Calderdale Cubs, whilst based at the College’s campus in Halifax. Academy students will be coached by highly qualified practitioners in a professional environment for six to eight hours per week, and will attend their classroom-based studies for around 12 hours per week, depending on their chosen course.
