Course Overview

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Sport (Sports Coaching) is a one-year vocational course that focuses on developing the introductory skills, knowledge and understanding of Sports Coaching through a combination of theory and practical based elements.

You will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills required to be able to coach sports and physical activities within the active leisure industry. You will gain valuable experience needed for employment (supporting PE and school sports), apprenticeships or academic progression.

During this course you will become well-equipped in all aspects of:

  • Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise
  • Developing Sporting Skills and Tactical Awareness
  • Sports Coaching
  • Participating in Sport

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above. Applicants will take part in an Admissions interview.

Progression

Following Level 2, students will be recommended to progress onto our 2 year, Level 3 sports course.

Assessment Methods

During the course you will be assessed through presentations, discussions, project delivery, written tasks and practical demonstrations.
