Course Overview

If you are looking to improve your DIY skills or gain those all important basic home renovation and maintenance skills then this course is for you.

This course will give students an opportunity to ask about projects they are working on, tutors will give information and tips to help students with their home improvements.

This course is designed for anyone who would like to tackle those small tasks around the home.

Applicants must be aged 19 or over.

The course includes Joinery & Painting & Decorating

Joinery:

  • Use power tools to install a shelf on hollow and solid walls
  • Replacing door handles
  • How to realign kitchen unit doors and ease squeaking doors and sticking drawers

Painting and Decorating:

  • Preparing surfaces to be painted
  • How to choose the right paint
  • Painting Techniques
  • Wallpapering Techniques, cross-lining and hanging drops

A start date has not been confirmed.

FEES

£50 for 1 course, £75 for both courses

There is remission available for the unemployed on benefits

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

No formal qualifications needed.

Progression

There are various Level 1, 2 and 3 courses available in the different construction trades.
