Mental Health Training

Free training for employers, employees and apprentices!

Support employee wellbeing and improve workplace culture with free courses in Mental Health First Aid.*

The accredited programmes available include:

  • Level 1 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (half day) – suitable for everyone
  • Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (one day) – designed for new Mental Health First Aiders
  • Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (two days) – suitable for trainers, assessors or supervisors within the workplace

Available to employers, as well as their employees, including current and prospective apprentices, our highly experienced trainer will guide you through the following topics during the sessions:

  • Knowing how to recognise and manage stress
  • The role of a Mental Health First Aider
  • Practical advice and support
  • Recognition and management of mental health conditions
  • The impact of substance abuse on mental health
  • Implementing first aid action plan for mental health
  • Establishing a positive workplace health culture
  • Introduction to wellbeing and mindfulness

The courses are designed to help improve workplace culture by empowering employees to talk with confidence about mental health at work, as well as put the steps in place to support employee wellbeing.

The training is part of the Collaborative Apprenticeships project and is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). The project is managed by the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC) and Calderdale College is supporting the delivery.
