24th February 2010 Calderdale College supports Totally Locally

Last year saw the launch of Totally Locally, a campaign that the College is happy and proud to take part in. The Totally Locally promotion aims to encourage people to shop locally on the basis that if every adult in Calderdale spent £5 in the participating towns rather than on the internet or elsewhere then an extra £40 million would go into our local economy. Shops, restaurants, bars and independent business have all seen an increase in traffic and are more than prepared to support the next stage of the campaign.

Calderdale College supports Haiti appeal

24th February 2010

It may be more than a month since the disastrous earthquake struck Haiti however the world is still conscious of the continued help and support the country needs. Calderdale College’s BTEC First Diploma in Business and National Diploma in Business students are part of the growing consort of people raising money for Haitians. The learners have collected £150.27 which they will now pass onto the British Red Cross.

Internet Safety Day

This week marks the launch of an internet safety campaign across Europe. Schools, colleges and organisations throughout the continent are supporting the event with a range of activities designed to help protect young people online. 8th February 2010 Prayers and manicures

Halifax Minster recently played host to Education Sunday a specially themed day which takes place in churches across the UK. It is a day of recognition of the importance of education and a time of celebration and prayer. This year marks the third year of the event in the town as well as the first time that it is held in the newly acknowledged Minster.
