Luke Ambler Inspire Award Winner 2016

29th September 2016 Luke Ambler Inspire Award Winner 2016

Luke gave a moving speech to over 100 graduands and a packed house at the impressive Victoria Theatre, Halifax.

Every year Calderdale College staff nominate members of the local community for an Inspire Award. This year’s winner is professional rugby player, Luke Ambler, who created “Andy’s Man Club” following the tragic suicide of his brother in law.

The awards are given to members of the local community who through their business or voluntary activities are an inspiration to others. “Andy’s Man Club” is a support group for men in crisis who can open up with others in similar situations. Luke is determined to break the stigma which men face when they talk about their feelings and has recently launched the #It’sOkayToTalk campaign.

Luke will received his award at the College’s Professional Graduation ceremony on Saturday 24th September at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax. Graduation 2016 included a parade through Halifax led by the Mayor followed by this year’s graduates, the Town Crier and Boys and Girls Brigade Band.
